Application Procedure for a One-Subject, Selective Course of Studies (DoSV)

You’re planning on taking a one-subject, selective course of studies at JGU? The allocation of study places takes place through the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV). You will first need to register on the portal and then apply at JGU using JOGU-StINe.

Applicants without German university entrance qualifications can find additional information on the info-pages for applicants with international certificates.

You can find all of the information on the allocation process on our homepage for the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV) and on the pages.

Applying for the summer semester:

Beginning of December to January 15

For applicants for selective subjects who possess German university entrance qualifications and/or German citizenship or EU-citizenship, study places will be allocated according to the following criteria:

  • 80% according to their university entrance qualification grade (usually the Abitur grade)
  • 20% according to their wait period (a maximum of 7 wait semesters can be taken into consideration)

You can find the last semesters' selection limits in the NC-table.

What does wait time mean?

The wait time is the number of semesters you spent not enrolled at a German higher education institution after having earned your university entrance qualification (such as your Abitur).
