Conversion of grades The conversion of Dutch grades into the German grading system is based on an average final grade point of 6 as the minimum passing grade. If the Dutch university sets the lowest pass mark at 5,5 a certificate issued by the university must be enclosed (see www.anabin.kmk.org). Since Dutch university degrees do not indicate a final grade, the overall performance is calculated on the basis of the individual performances. With regard to weighted grades, we strongly recommend graduates of Dutch universities to ask for a certificate of their final grade or to enclose a certificate with their application which explains how the individual performances are weighted. You must provide this certificate in the form of a notarized copy accompanied by an English or German translation together with the certificates and diplomas to be assessed and the Application for Recognition/Validation. For more information on the conversion of grades, please visit our website, especially the FAQ section. |
