Subject Matter

"A man can only become a man through education. He is nothing more than what education makes him. It can be noted that man is only educated by man, who have also been educated by man." (Immanuel Kant). Educational Science addresses the development and education of individuals to lead independent and responsible lives in society.

As a science, Educational Science investigates the goals, tasks and methods of education, as well as the reality of eduction in families, school, and social or special educational institutions. It looks at youth work, adult education, social policy, and types of advice and therapy. Students also investigate audience groups, institutions, the social and anthropological requirements for education, as well as the modern media. The course has a developmental or biographical approach with a focus on qualitative research methods. As part of our ERASMUS cooperation programs with European universities, students of Educational Science can take part in an internship or spend a semester abroad.
