Health Insurance Providers’ Electronic Notification Procedures

Starting from December 1st, 2021, JGU will be exchanging information regarding students’ health insurance status with the statutory health insurance providers electronically only. From that date on, we will no longer accept notifications in paper form.

The health insurance providers report the following information to JGU:
  • Health insurance status (M10; insured with a statutory health insurance provider = M10.1, exempt from compulsory health insurance or not insured with a statutory health insurance provider = M10.2),
  • Beginning of the insurance in case of a change of health insurance providers (M11)
  • Delay in health insurance payments (M12)
  • Payment of overdue health insurance payments (M13)
JGU reports the following information to the health insurance providers:
  • Beginning of the course of studies and day of enrollment (M20)
  • End of the semester as it pertains to your exmatriculation (M30)

What does this mean for you?

  • Applicants
You are insured through a statutory health insurance provider:
We will require an electronic notification stating your insurance status from your statutory health insurance provider no later than your time of enrollment (insured with a statutory health insurance provider, M10.1.).

  • Please contact your health insurance provider – the earlier, the better.
  • Please include the following sender number of JGU: H0002105
  • Your health insurance provider will then send their report to us.
You are able to be exempted from compulsory student health insurance (in case of private health insurance, for example):
We will require an electronic notification stating your insurance status from any statutory health insurance provider (exempt from compulsory health insurance, M10.2).

  • Please contact a statutory health insurance provider to do so – the earlier, the better.
  • Please include the following sender number of JGU: H0002105
  • The health insurance provider will then inform us of your exemption from compulsory health insurance.
  • Students
You are already enrolled at JGU:
  • You do not have to change anything despite the change to electronic notification procedures.
  •  The change only affects you once you change health insurance providers, for example.
You are enrolled at JGU and change your health insurance provider:
In case you change your health insurance provider, JGU requires an electronic notification of the change of health insurance providers from your new health insurance provider (M11).

  • Please contact your health insurance provider – the earlier, the better.
  • Please include the following sender number of JGU: H0002105
  • Your health insurance provider will then send the necessary report to us.
