Lottery for study places

Did you apply for a selective master’s program but fail to get a spot during regular admission? Or did you miss the deadline for selective master’s programs?

Then apply for participation in the admission lottery for selective master’s programs!

In order to be able to take part in the admission lottery, you must fulfill the subject-specific prerequisites. You can find out what these are in the program descriptions.

Furthermore, you must have completed a bachelor’s degree or be able to provide proof that you have earned at least 135 credit points.

If you completed your first degree at a foreign university, you will also need a certificate of recognition for that degree.

Furthermore, German skills must be proven to be on the DSH-2 level for most programs. You can find information on the recognized documentation on the page for the DSH equivalents.

Please read the respective program descriptions carefully to find out more the required language skills

The application to participate in the admission lottery for the winter semester 2021/22 will be available starting on August 1st.

  • Participation in the admission lottery is only possible for selective master’s programs
  • There will be no letters of rejection sent out in the lottery procedure
  • If the lottery takes place, admissions are usually sent out during the first few weeks of the lecture period
