Subject Matter
The Russian program serves primarily to train Russian teachers in secondary schools. Thus, the subject focuses on the Russian language, literature and geography, as well as the science of teaching Russian. The program provides language skills and structured knowledge for basic secondary fields that are particularly relevant to school: linguistics, literary studies, and cultural studies. It will equip students with the linguistic and didactic prerequisites to successfully teach in secondary schools.
They will also be able to explain the modern linguistic situation of Russian from a historical linguistic viewpoint, as well as conveying knowledge of the literature, the culture and the history of Russia from the Kievan Rus' through to the present day during lessons.
Master of Education is a degree that qualifies students to teach in secondary schools.
